Thanks to the availability of the material and tool data, <strong>manufacturable bending radii and other factors<\/strong> are already considered in the design process. Our software calculates the unfolding and - depending on the available SPI interface - also provides <strong>output formats<\/strong> with all data relevant for manufacturing (<strong>DXF<\/strong>, <strong>GEO<\/strong>, <strong>STEP<\/strong>, <strong>WiCAM-XML<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>SPI SheetMetal Data Editor<\/strong> is our <strong>material and tool management system<\/strong> with which you maintain your <strong>technology data<\/strong>. Technology data is required for the correct unfold calculation as well as for transfer to the NC processing. First and foremost, these are <strong>bend deduction values <\/strong>or <strong>formulas<\/strong>, which are necessary for calculating the <strong>blank length<\/strong>. But also other elements which have an influence on the bending process, such as <strong>materials<\/strong>, <strong>sheet thickness<\/strong> or <strong>tools<\/strong>, are managed with the editor.<\/p>\n<p>SPI SheetMetal offers several ways to <strong>import <\/strong><strong>data <\/strong>on which to base these calculations.<\/p>\n<p>The software supports <strong>various calculation methods<\/strong> for determining bend shortening, from <strong>own formulas<\/strong> to <strong>empirically determined measurements<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"et_pb_row_5 et_pb_row et_block_row\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_column_7 et_pb_column et_pb_column_4_4 et-last-child et_block_column et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode_passthrough\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_text_8 et_pb_text et_pb_bg_layout_light et_pb_module et_block_module\"><div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\"><h3><strong>Measurements<br \/><\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"et_pb_text_9 et_pb_text et_pb_bg_layout_light et_pb_module et_block_module\"><div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\"><p><strong>Measurements <\/strong>allow for a more accurate representation of the dynamic bending process than formulas. A precise unfolding of a sheet metal part requires a sufficient amount of available <strong>deduction values<\/strong>. If no measurement is found for calculating a bend, it will be <strong>interpolated<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"et_pb_row_6 et_pb_row et_block_row\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_column_8 et_pb_column et_pb_column_4_4 et-last-child et_block_column et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode_passthrough\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_text_10 et_pb_text et_pb_bg_layout_light et_pb_module et_block_module\"><div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\"><h3><strong>Formulas<br \/><\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"et_pb_text_11 et_pb_text et_pb_bg_layout_light et_pb_module et_block_module\"><div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\"><p>Formulas enable the computation of the <strong>shortening factors<\/strong> for the input parameters (<strong>sheet thickness<\/strong>, <strong>opening angle<\/strong>, <strong>bend radius<\/strong>) and thus make the flat pattern calculation possible.
